Secure payments for charity events and fundraising

Power your fundraising events with real-time donation processing for galas, auctions, telethons, and hybrid events. Multi-channel capture tools that keep giving easy from the moment guests arrive to the moment the last pledge comes in.

Why charity events lose donations

Live events demand instant, frictionless payments. Generic tools create queues, lose pledges, and expose sensitive card data.

Live Event Payment Chaos

Galas, auctions, and fundraising dinners generate spontaneous giving — but collecting card details on the night is chaotic, insecure, and loses donations to friction.

Pledge Follow-Up Failure

Guests pledge generously at events but converting those pledges into payments is difficult. Without automated follow-up, a significant percentage of pledged funds never materialise.

On-the-Day Queues

Long queues, paper forms, and manual card machines slow down giving at live events. Supporters lose enthusiasm when the payment process takes too long.

Post-Event Reconciliation

Matching donations to donors, campaigns, and events after the fact is time-consuming and error-prone. Incomplete records make thank-you communications and Gift Aid claims difficult.

Purpose-built for charity events

From live auctions to post-event pledge follow-up, every feature is designed to keep giving easy and secure.

DTMF Masking Technology

DTMF masking lets donors give over the phone securely. Fundraising staff hear only flat tones while card details are captured — perfect for post-event pledge calls.

QR Code Payments

Display QR codes at events that link to secure, branded donation pages. Guests scan and pay from their phones in seconds — no queues, no forms, no friction.

Automated Pledge Chase

Send automatic follow-up messages with secure payment links to pledged donors. Convert more pledges into payments without manual phone calls or emails.

Event Campaign Pages

Create dedicated donation pages for each event with real-time fundraising totals. Track performance, share progress with supporters, and report to trustees.

Mobile-Friendly Payments

Every payment page is fully responsive and optimised for mobile. Supporters donate from any device at any time — during the event, on the way home, or days later.

Real-Time Tracking

See donations as they come in during live events. Real-time dashboards show fundraising progress, donor details, and payment status — all in one place.

Why event organisers choose Paytia

More donations, less friction

QR codes, payment links, and phone payments mean supporters can give the moment they want to — no queues, no forms, no lost enthusiasm.

Every channel covered

In-person guests, virtual attendees, remote donors — everyone gets a secure, straightforward way to give that works for them.

Auction evenings run smoother

Winners pay immediately via QR code or payment link. No paper forms, no card machines being passed around tables, no queues at the end of the night.

Pledges that actually convert

Most pledges are made in the room on the night. Automated follow-up with a payment link converts far more of them than phone calls or emails ever will.

Accurate records without the work

Every donation is tagged to the right campaign, donor, and event automatically. Gift Aid, trustee reporting, and Charity Commission requirements are all covered.

Works with your existing team

No specialist training and no hardware to install. Generate QR codes and payment links in minutes, brief your volunteers, and you're ready.

Frequently asked questions

Can Paytia process payments during a live auction?+

Yes. Winning bidders can pay immediately via QR code, payment link, or phone — keeping your auction moving without queues or paper forms.

How does the pledge follow-up system work?+

After your event, Paytia sends automated messages with secure payment links to every pledged donor. You can track conversion rates and send reminders for outstanding pledges.

Is Paytia compatible with Gift Aid declarations?+

Paytia captures donor details alongside each transaction, making it straightforward to match payments to Gift Aid declarations for HMRC claims.

What happens if our internet goes down during an event?+

Phone-based payments via DTMF masking work over the telephone network, not your venue Wi-Fi. Donors can also pay later via payment links sent by SMS or email.

How quickly can we set up for an event?+

Campaign pages and QR codes can be created in minutes. There is no hardware to install — just generate your codes, brief your team, and start collecting.

Frequently asked questions

Can we collect Gift Aid declarations alongside phone donations?

+

Yes. When a donor pays over the phone, your fundraiser captures the Gift Aid declaration and donor address details before the card entry step. The donation record stores both the payment and the declaration together, so when you export for HMRC at the end of the quarter, every eligible gift is already matched to a valid declaration. See how phone payments work for the full call flow.

How do donors pay during a phone-fundraising call without reading their card aloud?

+

The donor keys their card number into their own phone keypad while still on the call with your fundraiser. We replace the keypad tones with flat audio in real time, so your fundraiser hears nothing identifiable and the digits never touch your call recording or CRM. They stay on the line throughout to confirm the donation landed. DTMF masking is what makes this work.

Can event staff take card payments on phones or tablets at a gala?

+

Rather than putting card data on event-staff devices, we send a secure payment link by SMS or email — the donor taps it and pays from their own phone. Card data never lands on a borrowed iPad or a volunteer's laptop, which keeps the night out of PCI scope entirely. Payment links handle the in-room and post-event pledge follow-up the same way.

Can we set up regular giving for a donor during a single phone call?

+

Yes. Once the donor keys in their card via the phone keypad, we tokenise it and you set the schedule on the spot — monthly, quarterly, or annually. The donor doesn't need a second call to authorise future collections, and the token is meaningless to anyone who intercepts it. Useful for converting a one-off event donor into a regular supporter without the admin friction. See recurring payments for the setup detail.

What does running multiple events a year mean for our PCI scope?

+

If your charity never touches card data, your PCI scope stays at the minimum SAQ A level no matter how many events you run. Because card details go straight from the donor's phone into our PCI DSS Level 1 environment, none of your event laptops, volunteer devices, or office systems come into scope. See our PCI DSS attestation if your auditor needs the AoC.
