Elavon Integration

Elavon integration

Add secure telephone payment processing to your existing Elavon gateway. PCI-compliant MOTO payments with DTMF masking — settles on Realex or Opayo.

Add telephone payments to your Elavon account

Keep your existing Elavon setup and add secure telephone payment capabilities without disruption — on Realex or Opayo.

DTMF Suppression — agent stays live

The agent stays on the call throughout. The customer keys their card details into their own phone keypad, and the DTMF tones are intercepted before they reach the agent or your call recordings. Card data never touches your contact centre.

Channel Separation — IVR mode

For contact centres that prefer full separation, the customer enters card details against secure automated voice prompts. The agent is kept updated on progress without seeing any data, and can rejoin the call instantly by pressing *.

Works on Realex and Opayo

Agent Capture Assist settles every payment through your existing Elavon gateway — Realex or Opayo, whichever you're on. No change to your acquiring arrangement, rates, or contract.

PCI scope reduction

Because card data is captured by Paytia's infrastructure and never heard or seen by your team, your PCI obligation drops from SAQ D to SAQ A. That means fewer questions, fewer controls, and far less compliance overhead.

Web-based virtual terminal

Agents work from a configurable web-based terminal. Fields can be renamed, shown, hidden, or made required. CRM autofill populates customer details automatically, and multi-store ID support routes payments to the right Elavon sub-account.

Works with any phone system

Whether you're on a traditional PBX, a cloud CCaaS platform, or a simple SIP setup, Agent Capture Assist fits alongside it. We provide dedicated agent phone numbers and support both digital SIP and analogue call forwarding.

Full payment flexibility

Immediate charging, reserve and pre-authorisation, recurring payment setup, and card-to-token capture are all supported. One- and two-stage processing options cover the full range of MOTO payment scenarios.

API and webhooks

Trigger a payment session directly from your CRM or business application via API. Webhook callbacks deliver the result back to your systems the moment the payment completes — no manual checking needed.

How Elavon integration works

Two modes, one PCI-compliant outcome

DTMF Suppression

The agent stays live on the call throughout. The customer keys their card details on their own phone keypad — the tones are intercepted before they reach the agent or your call recording system. The agent sees a real-time status screen showing which fields have been entered, but never the actual digits.

Channel Separation

The customer is temporarily moved to an automated IVR to enter their card details against secure voice prompts. The agent waits on a parallel channel, watching progress. If the customer needs help at any point, the agent can rejoin by pressing * — no need to restart the payment.

Both modes settle through your existing Elavon Realex or Elavon Opayo gateway — there's no change to your acquiring arrangement, rates, or contract.

How the integration works technically

Elavon Realex and Opayo

Paytia connects to the Elavon gateway API you're already on. Realex and Opayo are both supported — you don't need to move gateway or open a new merchant account.

Tokenised submissions

Paytia captures card data via DTMF and passes a payment token to Elavon. Raw card data never enters your contact centre environment, your call recordings, or Paytia's permanent storage.

Works with any phone system

Whether you're on a cloud CCaaS platform, a traditional PBX, or a simple SIP trunk, Paytia fits alongside it. Dedicated agent numbers and both SIP and analogue forwarding options are included.

API trigger and webhooks

Initiate a payment session from your CRM or business application via the Paytia API. Webhooks deliver the outcome back to your system the moment the payment completes.

What this means for your PCI compliance

Paytia is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of certification, independently audited each year. Because card data is captured by Paytia's infrastructure and never reaches your contact centre, your Self-Assessment Questionnaire drops from SAQ D (over 300 questions) to SAQ A (around 20 questions). Your Elavon gateway continues to handle settlement exactly as it does today.

  • Agents never hear, see, or handle card digits
  • Call recordings contain no card data
  • Your network never carries raw card information
  • Elavon settlement continues unchanged

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about using Paytia with your Elavon payment gateway.

How does Paytia integrate with my Elavon gateway?+

Paytia connects to your existing Elavon Realex or Elavon Opayo merchant account via a secure API integration. No changes to your Elavon configuration are needed — Paytia handles the secure card data capture layer and passes tokenised payment data to Elavon for processing and settlement.

What's the difference between DTMF Suppression and Channel Separation?+

With DTMF Suppression, the agent stays on the call throughout. The customer keys their card on their own phone keypad, and the tones are masked before they reach the agent or your recordings. With Channel Separation, the customer is briefly moved to an automated IVR to enter their card details against voice prompts, while the agent monitors progress from a separate screen and can rejoin instantly by pressing *. Both modes keep card data out of your environment.

Does Agent Capture Assist work with both Elavon Realex and Elavon Opayo?+

Yes. Paytia supports both Elavon gateway platforms. If you're on Realex, payments settle through Realex. If you're on Opayo, they settle through Opayo. You can also have both connected if your business uses both gateways.

How does Paytia help with PCI compliance when using Elavon?+

Paytia is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level. By capturing card data through our secure telephone payment infrastructure, your agents never hear or see card details. This removes your contact centre from PCI scope entirely, reducing your Self-Assessment Questionnaire from SAQ D to SAQ A. Your Elavon gateway continues to handle payment processing as normal.

Can agents still help customers during the payment?+

Yes, in both modes. With DTMF Suppression, the agent stays live on the call and can guide the customer at every step — they just never hear the actual card digits. With Channel Separation, the customer temporarily enters an IVR to enter their card details, and the agent can rejoin the call instantly by pressing * if the customer needs help.

What types of payments can I process through Elavon with Paytia?+

Paytia supports immediate payment charging, reserve and pre-authorisation, recurring payment plan setup, and card-to-token capture for future use — all settled through your Elavon Realex or Opayo gateway. Both one-stage and two-stage processing options are available.

How long does it take to get set up?+

Most integrations are live within a few weeks. There's no hardware to install, no software to deploy on your systems, and no changes to your existing Elavon configuration. Paytia works with any phone system or CCaaS platform via SIP or call forwarding.

Does it work with our existing phone system or contact centre platform?+

Yes. Agent Capture Assist works alongside any CCaaS platform, cloud contact centre, or traditional PBX. We support both digital SIP and analogue call forwarding, and provide dedicated agent phone numbers. There's no requirement to change your telephony infrastructure.
