For the Royal College of Radiologists, these are routine transactions — but they shared a common problem: staff were handling card details on every one of those calls. The Royal College of Radiologists is the UK medical royal college for clinical radiologists and clinical oncologists, based at Lincoln's Inn Fields in London. It provides training, examinations and CPD for its membership, and a proportion of those fees come in over the phone. The College had Salesforce in place and was clear from the start that card data shouldn't land in staff inboxes or the CRM. Every phone payment handled by a member of staff meant card details passing into the College's environment and into PCI DSS scope — adding compliance overhead to a finance team that had better things to do with their time. Paytia takes card data off the call. When it's time to pay, the member or candidate keys their card number on their own phone keypad.
