How do I add a merchant account profile to a payment gateway?

You can connect more than one merchant account to your Paytia gateway — handy if different parts of the business settle into different bank accounts. Here's how to add an extra profile and manage it afterwards.

Setting up a merchant account profile on Paytia

You can connect more than one merchant account to your Paytia payment gateway — useful if you settle payments into different bank accounts for different parts of the business. Here's how to add an extra profile and manage it afterwards.

Step 1: Open Payment Gateway Setup

  1. Log in to your Paytia administrative console.
  2. In the left-hand menu, select Manage Payments, then click Payment Gateway Setup.

Step 2: Add an extra gateway account

  1. If your licence covers multiple gateways, you'll see an Add Extra Account button in the top-right corner. Click it.

  2. You'll be asked for three things: the payment gateway (choose the provider already linked to your Paytia account), a nickname (a unique name — it's what users see in the Agent Capture Assist interface), and your security details — the login credentials or API keys your gateway provider gave you.
  3. Once you've entered those, click Continue.

Step 3: Manage your gateway accounts

Both the primary account and the new one now appear in the list on the Payment Gateway Setup page. From there you can set one as the primary gateway (the default for transactions), re-sync an account to refresh its connection with the provider, disable a connection temporarily, or edit a gateway to update its credentials or change its nickname.

Step 4: Using multiple gateways in Agent Capture Assist

With a second account in place, your users see a choice of payment gateways when they take a transaction in Agent Capture Assist. Each one shows the nickname you set, so pick names your team will recognise at a glance.

Two things to check if a connection misbehaves: that your licence actually includes extra gateways, and that the credentials you entered match what your provider issued — a mistyped key is the usual culprit.
