SIP call settings
SIP Call Settings control how inbound and outbound numbers are handled — CLI, DDI and number formatting. Here's how to find them and what each one does.
How to Navigate and Configure SIP Call Settings on the Paytia Portal
The SIP Call Settings feature allows you to manage how inbound and outbound telephone numbers are processed through Paytia. This includes defining CLI (Caller Line Identification) and DDI (Direct Dial-In) behavior and setting number formats.
Accessing SIP Call Settings
-
Log In
Log in to the Paytia platform as an admin. -
Navigate to SIP Call Settings
- On the left-hand menu, locate and click Configure Telephony.
- Under the subcategories, select SIP Call Settings.

Configuring Inbound and Outbound Call Settings
The SIP Call Settings page allows you to configure two key aspects:
1. CLI and DDI Forwarding Options
This setting determines how CLI and DDI are handled for inbound and outbound calls.
-
Inbound Calls:
Choose how Paytia forwards CLI and DDI to your telephone system to ensure the correct caller details are displayed. -
Outbound Calls:
Select how CLI and DDI are passed to the telephony carrier.
Forwarding Options:
- CLI and DDI received are forwarded on: Both CLI and DDI are passed without changes.
- CLI is forwarded on but DDI is changed to the Paytia call-to number: The DDI is replaced with your Paytia number to mask your personal number.

Note:
To view your Paytia number, navigate to Payment-Line under the Configure Telephony menu.

2. Number Format Settings
Define the number format for inbound and outbound calls based on your telephony system requirements.
Available Formats:
- E.164 Format: Includes a "+" followed by the country code (e.g.,
+44). - National Format: Displays the number without the country code (e.g.,
01234). - National Format Without Lead Zero: Excludes the leading zero and adds the country code (e.g.,
1234).
Example Configurations:
- Inbound Calls: Choose how incoming numbers should appear.
- Outbound Calls: Select the format expected by your telephony carrier.
Saving Your Settings
- After making your selections for CLI/DDI forwarding and number format, click the Save Settings button at the bottom of the page.
Summary
The SIP Call Settings feature ensures seamless integration between Paytia and your telephony system by allowing you to customize how telephone numbers are displayed and formatted. These settings improve call handling, protect privacy, and align with your telephony carrier’s requirements.
