I already have a merchant account with a payment provider, can I use that?
Yes. If your gateway is on our Direct Partner scheme there's no extra monthly cost. If it isn't, it runs through the indirect scheme instead — here's the difference.
Can I Use My Existing Merchant Account With Paytia?
Yes, you can use your existing merchant account with Paytia! Here's how it works, depending on your payment gateway:
Direct Payment Partner Scheme
If your payment gateway is part of Paytia's Direct Payment Partner Scheme, we can set up your Paytia account to integrate with it at no additional monthly cost. This allows you to continue using your existing payment provider seamlessly through Paytia's secure platform.
Indirect Payment Partner Scheme
If your payment gateway is part of Paytia's Indirect Payment Partner Scheme, integration is still possible. However, additional service charges may apply. This is because Paytia has carried out the necessary technical work to enable secure transactions with these gateways on your behalf.
How to Decide the Best Option
To ensure you get the most value, consider the following:
-
Review Costs

Manage Email Templates
You can rewrite the emails the platform sends your customers to match your own branding and tone, while keeping the variables that fill in their name and transaction details automatically.
My Profile - Editing your contact details
Contact details is where you change your primary email — which doubles as your login — plus where invoices are sent and the company address printed on them.
Payment forms - allowing customers to choose to store their card on their account for future purchases
Stripe stores every card by default and never asks the cardholder. We think that's the cardholder's decision, so our forms give them the choice.
Paytia portal · Payment rules
Payment rules watch for a condition — card type, country, amount, service key — and then act on it: hide a button, add a fee, or send the payment to a different gateway.
Sub-Company profile creation
Sub-Company profiles let one account take payments for several brands, each with its own branding and configuration. You'll need the Sub-Company Control licence.
User prompts in Agent Capture Assist
User prompts put whatever your agents need on screen while they take a payment — a script, a help link, a reminder. There's a text editor and a code view.
