Why do my minutes remaining show a minus figure?

You've gone past your plan's allowance. Rather than cut a live call off mid-sentence, we let you borrow minutes and settle up afterwards.

Understanding Negative Call Minutes in Paytia

If your Minutes Remaining display shows a negative figure, here’s what it means and why it occurs.

Why Does the Balance Show Negative Minutes?

Negative minutes indicate that your account has exceeded the allocated secure call minutes for your plan. Paytia has a safeguard in place to ensure your call is not interrupted mid-conversation. Instead of cutting off the call, the system temporarily allows you to borrow additional minutes to complete the active call.

What Happens Next?

  1. Automatic Adjustment
After exceeding the allocated minutes, your account's usage will reflect a negative balance until your subscription is updated or the balance is reset.

  2. Refilling Minutes
To avoid further interruptions or negative balances:

    • Purchase additional Top-up Minutes through the Subscription and Billing menu.
    • Alternatively, upgrade your subscription plan for a higher monthly allocation of secure call minutes.

Preventing Negative Balances

To ensure smooth operations and uninterrupted calls:

  • Monitor Usage
Regularly check your remaining call minutes in the Paytia admin portal to stay informed about your balance.
  • Set Notifications
Enable email or system alerts to notify you when your minutes are running low.
  • Top-Up Early
Use the Buy Top-Up Call Bundle option in your subscription menu to add minutes before running out.
